I have done community service trips before, but this summer was different. Although we didn’t see how the teen center would be used it was incredible building an entire building knowing that the community will definitely benefit from it being built. I have never been to Alaska before and can’t believe the differences between that state and the rest of America. I really learned to value what I have and how to use what is around you and not be wasteful. I gained a better understanding of how to handle yourself in different situations that you aren’t used to. Also, how to respect other cultures better.
