- Immersion in Blackfeet Indian culture
- Glacier National Park, Bob Marshall Wilderness
- Rock climbing, backpacking, horseback riding
- Pow wows, sweat lodges, western towns and sites
- 65 to 95 hours service credit (3 and 4 weeks)

There were more recreational activities than I thought there would be. It was nice to work really hard for a few days and then get a fun break…Every time I was at Tom Crawford’s house I felt so happy that I chose the Montana trip. I learned more from him probably than from any school teacher I’ve ever had. The Sweat ceremonies and the Sundance were amazing experiences. I have enormous respect for the Blackfeet culture and for its people. Also, for the first time, I got to see what it is like to be a minority…I got to work hard, learn, experience new things and have fun amongst incredible people who I will never forget. It was the greatest month of my life.

Lucy's experience was transformative. She made lifelong connections. I have not seen her so enthusiastic or positive or moved by anything. Her experience in the sweat lodge was really meaningful for her...but I also think she just grooved on building a [wheelchair] ramp for someone.
